Opened in 1970, Melbourne Airport is the primary airport serving the city of Melbourne. The second busiest airport in Australia, it is just 14 miles from the city centre.
The Melbourne-Sydney air route is the second most-travelled passenger air route in the world. Between 2016 and 2017 over 25 million domestic passengers and 10 million international passengers used the airport.
Working with Grimshaw Architects once more (we worked with them on the Hobert Airport washroom project) we were able to deliver a custom wash wall Alavo system and continuous Corian Vanity Wash Trough.
The design was bright, light, modern and edgy. The extra detailing of black mirror edging really made the product icons lit with blue LED shine on the polished backdrop. Creating a light, open and spacious activity space for the washroom, making a pleasant washroom experience for users that will often be rushing, on the go, coming from or going to flights.
This particular design is great for facility and janitorial teams that are constantly cleaning and replenishing stock in the washroom due to continuous, heavy footfall both day and night. The Alavo wash wall system keeps the soap, tap and drying facilities all in one place.
